Company Overview
3T Additive Manufacturing is a Newbury-based metal additive manufacturing company, recently acquired by SBO, a large high precision manufacturing company, listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. We are one of only five companies globally achieving series production in metal AM, serving aerospace, defence, semiconductor, and energy customers from a single vertically integrated facility. We hold AS9100D certification.
Candidates must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Programme Manager to take full operational ownership of STRATA, a £3.2M ATI-funded programme within a £14.1M Honeywell-led aerospace consortium running to May 2028. STRATA integrates three workstreams – new product introduction, digital transformation (delivered with the NCC, Bristol), and sustainability (delivered with WMG, University of Warwick) – and is central to 3T’s long-term strategy.
You will be the single point of accountability for programme delivery, managing the budget including Innovate UK financial submissions, coordinating internal and external delivery teams, and representing 3T in consortium reviews with Honeywell. You will report to the Programme Sponsor and Head of Operations in a matrix structure.
Beyond delivery, we want someone who thinks strategically – connecting what STRATA builds to what comes next, identifying future innovation opportunities, and helping shape 3T’s digital and sustainability roadmap.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of all STRATA workstreams against scope, schedule, and budget.
• Manage the £3.2M programme budget, including preparing and submitting Innovate UK financial claims in collaboration with the Finance Director.
• Integrate the NPI, digital, and sustainability workstreams, managing cross-workstream dependencies and ensuring coherent delivery.
• Manage delivery relationships with the NCC and WMG as subcontracted partners, holding them to agreed scope and timelines.
• Act as the primary operational interface with Honeywell, leading 3T’s contribution to quarterly consortium milestone reviews.
• Coordinate internally with workstream leads (NPI, digital, materials) to ensure alignment and resource availability.
• Maintain programme governance: risk registers, milestone reporting, action tracking, and lessons learned.
• Escalate decisions affecting budget, scope, or contractual commitments to the Programme Sponsor.
• Connect STRATA deliverables to 3T’s long-term strategy, including the Lighthouse Factory vision and digital enterprise roadmap.
• Identify opportunities for further innovation and future funding applications as the programme progresses.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
• A recognised project management qualification (APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience managing complex, multi-workstream programmes or projects.
• Experience working within a manufacturing company or industrial environment.
• Experience operating within a regulated quality management system (AS9100, ISO 9001, or equivalent).
• Proven ability to manage programme budgets and report financial performance.
• Experience managing external delivery partners, subcontractors, or consortium relationships.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to represent the company to external stakeholders.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable
• Degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with publicly funded programmes (Innovate UK, ATI, UKRI, or similar).
• Background in aerospace, defence, or another regulated manufacturing sector.
• Awareness of digital manufacturing concepts (MES, ERP, IoT) or sustainability frameworks.
• Familiarity with NPI methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, or FMEA.
What We're Looking For
Our core values are integrity, innovation, customer focus, and fair play. We are looking for someone who embodies these values and brings the following qualities:
• Technically curious, with the appetite to learn and the ability to hold expert partners to account without necessarily being a specialist in their domain.
• A natural integrator who can see how workstreams connect and who ensures the whole programme delivers more than the sum of its parts.
• Resilient and comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where priorities can shift.
• Self-directed, capable of managing their own workload with minimal supervision while knowing when to escalate.
• Passionate about developing the people around them and contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture.
• Committed to doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.
• Forward-thinking, with a genuine interest in how advanced manufacturing, digitalisation, and sustainability can shape the future of UK industry.
Working Arrangements & Benefits
• Salary of £50,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Employer pension contribution.
• 25 days annual leave plus UK bank holidays.
• Performance-related bonus in line with group terms.
• Professional development opportunities.
• Private healthcare option
• Bike to work scheme.
• Fixed-term contract with the potential for a permanent role upon successful completion of the programme.
